oRGcells exist extensively in non-human primates and human cortex, and were thought to be key factors of evolution from non-gyrus to gyrus. We used single-cell RNA-seq to screen the marker genes of oRG cells, and the conditional overexpression of the genes confirmed the genes could promote the proliferation of mouse neural progenitor cells and induce cortical thickening and gyrification in postnatal mice.
