Male, born in 1964, Ph.D., He is mainly engaged in the study of the neural basis of human vision, including visual attention and visual consciousness. He is currently the Academic Deputy Director of the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director and Principal Investigator of the State Key Laboratory of Brain & Cognitive Sciences. He obtained a bachelor's degree in biophysics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1986, and received a PhD in psychology from the University of California, San Diego in 1995. From 1995 to 1997, he was engaged in postdoctoral research at Harvard University. Since 1997, he has served as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota. He joined the Institute of Biophysics in 2012 and served as the Director of the State Key Laboratory of Brain & Cognitive Sciences.
