Male, born in 1971, PhD, member of the Communist Party of China. The recipient of the National "Outstanding Youth Fund”, mainly engaged in epigenetics research. He is currently the deputy director of the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the director and principal investigator of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of School of Life Sciences at the University of Science and Technology. He received a bachelor's degree in Biological Science and Technology from Zhejiang University in 1992, a master's degree from the China National Rice Research Institute in 1995, and a doctorate from the Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999. From 1999 to 2014, he was engaged in postdoctoral research at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research in Switzerland and the Howard-Hughes Medical Institute in the United States. In 2006, he returned to China to work full time at the Beijing Institute of Life Sciences as a principal investigator. In 2014, he was transferred to the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences as a principal investigator.
